6-year-old Boko Haram victim walks again after surgery, ending his 3 years on wheelchair


A child victim of Boko Haram insurgency, Ali Ahmadu, has successfully undergone spinal cord surgery in Dubai ending his three years on wheelchair.
The boy, who was injured by the insurgents in Chibok community, Borno State, when he was three years old, was flown out of the country by the Dickens Sanomi Foundation, penultimate Sunday. .

It was reported that the foundation, alongside a non-governmental organisation, the Global Initiative for Peace, Love and Care, approached eminent Nigerians, including the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, for assistance on the boy’s medical bills. .

According to statements on Saturday by the two organisations, Ahmadu on September 17, 2017, underwent a spinal cord surgery at the Zulekha Hospital, Sharjah in Dubai. .
It was learnt that contrary to the doctors’ predictions that Ahmadu would walk after three weeks of recuperation, the little boy on Saturday started walking. The doctors at the hospital were said to have described the boy’s recovery as a miracle. 📸: Punchng
